Ivax Pharmaceuticals s.r.o - Opava site was acquired as part of the Ivax acquisition at the end of 2005. Opava site produces active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and herbal extracts. A special feature of the Division is that its portfolio contains all commercially produced ergot alkaloids. Its most important products are nicergoline, cabergoline, lisuride (ergot alkaloids), butorphanol, buprenorphine (morphinan alkaloids), ciclosporin, mycophenolate mofetil, tacrolimus (immunosuppressives) and paclitaxel (cytostatics). These substances are produced mainly from natural sources. More and more products are also prepared by chemical modification and synthesis.
